    Capoeira Arte Antiga's Mission Statement

Capoeira Arte Antiga is a North Carolina nonprofit organization whose primary purpose is to promote cultural diversity and global awareness, particularly in North Carolina's High Country, and to share with communities the history, art, and music of Capoeira. Through educational activities, public performances, workshops, lectures, and training, the primary objective of Capoeira Arte Antiga is to cultivate an interest in the art of Capoeira, to foster character-building and self-confidence, to promote physical fitness, and to develop a strong sense of community among future "capoeirista" children, adolescents, and adults of Watauga and surrounding counties.
